Classes for you

Classes for You is a brand new business started by two stay-at-home moms, Susie Hanson and Becky Seidenberg. We are located in Richmond, VA less than one mile from Short Pump Town Center. We offer fun enrichment classes for everyone all under one roof!

What’s so unique about us?

Over 30 ART classes per week (from cartooning to ceramics), over 10 MUSIC classes per week (from Mommy N Me to singing American Idol style), Drama, Ocean Encounters (live marine animals on site weekly), Movement (Yoga to Intro to Dance), Etiquette, Spanish (toddlers to adults), Book Clubs for Kids, more!

  • Can’t decide which class to take? We’re flexible! Classes run on 6-week sessions - try our class sampler with no expiration date or drop-in to a class if space available.
  • Never get a chance to catch up with a friend, “kid-free”? Try our Lunch N Learn Program (Bring your child’s lunch – he/she stays for a 90-min. class).
  • Think you’re too busy for a class? Try one of our seminars/workshops: American Red Cross Babysitting and CPR, Horticulture/Gardening, Entertaining, Financial Planning, Organizing, Intro to the College Application Process, Baby Sign Language, Scrapbooking and more.

The Owners

Susie Hanson

is a stay-at-home mother of two great boys and wife to Fred. She graduated from Wake Forest University in 1989 with a degree in Business and an Art minor. She has worked at the corporate headquarters of various Richmond-based companies, from marketing and analysis at Circuit City and Suntrust Bank to financial analysis at AMF. She stopped working about a year after her first son was born and is enjoying the challenges of running a business all about learning and fun! In her spare time, she plays a little tennis and enjoys decorative painting.

Becky Seidenberg

is first of all a mother of 3 and wife to Paul. She graduated from VCU in 1989 w/ a degree in Management. Becky spent the majority of her career as a Regional Manager for HealthCare Management Systems handling physician’s accounts receivables. She stopped working after Claire was born. She then worked part-time as the Executive Director of Rebuilding Together (Christmas in April) for 2 years. She has been a stay-at-home mom since shortly after the birth of Jack. She is really excited about the endless possibilities at Classes For You!


Staff

Joan Bruns

was born in Arizona and lived in Maryland. She has two grown children. She taught nursery school and then word processing and other classes at Montgomery College.

She worked for the Montgomery County Board of Elections for several years before moving to Richmond with her husband in 2005. Joan will help insure all our classes are running smoothly.

Leigh Casarotti

is a stay at home mom of two girls. She is a graduate of Lynchburg College and has a degree in Education. Leigh taught 6th grade at Chickahominy Middle School, in Hanover County, from 1993-2001. She has kept herself busy since having children as a Girl Scout leader, a member of the PTA Board, and a member of the Comfort Zone Camp Junior Board. She has also kept her teaching certificate current.

Since both girls are now at Pemberton Elementary, Leigh hopes to find out what her hobbies actually are again! She is very excited to remain active with children through Classes For You. Leigh will help insure all our classes are running smoothly.

Rosemary Koehler

was born and raised in Maryland, where she worked for Geico Insurance for 20 years in customer service, management, and systems analysis. After ”retiring” from work for several years to raise her two children, she then worked for the Montgomery County Board of Elections before moving to Richmond in 2005.

She has two grown children, Courtney and Greg, and currently handles accounting and customer service for her son’s company, American Dream Landscaping. Rosemary will help insure all our classes are running smoothly.

Gail Marks

has two children and is married to Robert. She graduated from the State University of New York at Farmingdale in 1983 with a degree in Information Technology. Gail recently “retired” after 20 years in the IT field working for several office equipment manufacturers and consulting firms in marketing, product management, training and computer network engineering. She currently stays busy doing free-lance copyediting for companies that produce computer courseware and also manages her personalized children’s stationery business. In her free time, she enjoys photography, reading, and travel. Gail will help ensure that all our classes are running smoothly.

Corinne Skevington

is married to Bryan and stays home with her two daughters. She graduated from Randolph-Macon College in 1989 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English. In 1993 she received her Masters of Education Degree from VCU with endorsements in working with children with learning and emotional disabilities. From 1993-1998, she taught at Brookland Middle School and now she is a substitute teacher with Henrico County Public Schools. When she has free time, she likes to travel, play tennis, and read. Corinne will help insure all our classes are running smoothly.
